"What is the advantage of working with EV Connect for my electric vehicle (EV)
charging stations needs?"
The combination of hardware flexibility, software expertise and customized solutions means that you are getting stations that are affordable, reliable, and have the best capability of being integrated seamlessly with your other enterprise operations. In addition, because of our stringent Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) compliance, your stations will be viable in the future, not just useful today.
"How many charging stations will I need?"
That depends on how many EV drivers you have now and project to have in the near future as well as the configuration of your EV charging station infrastructure. Your free site assessment will detail both single and double connector stations, ground mounted and well mounted, which can be mixed and matched, based on your property's needs.
"What is the price for charge station installation?"
That depends on electric infrastructure (power supply) needs and distance of the charge station parking lot location from the power supply. When your charge stations can be clustered together, it is often less expensive to run electric power supply to the stations. Their location also affects any cement and asphalt ground preparation work, which can impact installation costs. This is also the case for communication platforms (e.g. Wifi, Ethernet) which connect the stations to your property's communication and management platforms. Installation requirements are evaluated with a free site assessment. Bottom line, you can get an accurate estimate of the costs by contacting EV Connect.
What happens if a charger is not working?
Every EV Connect charging station includes EV Connect contact information that your property can use to contact EV Connect to ensure we get your station back on-line as soon as possible. Further, EV Connect offers station monitoring capabilities, which will alert EV Connect about any charging station that is not operational. EV Connect handles the service process for you.
What is Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP)?
OCPP is an internationally established open protocol for the communication between electric vehicle (EV) charge station hardware and charge station networks (akin to a cell phone service provider).
Some leading EV charging companies that make both charge stations and network operating software say that their network uses "open protocols," but in some cases that isn't true. For more information, please see this page about OCPP.
